"Having taken part in North Star for the first time in 2023 I was impressed by how well the event, including the co-development of workshops with schools was run. The Work-Wise Foundation team supported me every step of the way before, during and after the event. The whole team clearly share the same passion and dedication and the smooth running of such a large and complex event is a credit to their hard work and dedication. I have already booked to take part in Get up to Speed with STEM 2024 and I look forward to working together on future events."

Summer Academy 2023

"Ben has been full of beans after today's sessions and we have found it very interesting listening to all he has learnt today so thank you very much...I just wanted to say thank you very much for organising and running the Academy this week. Ben has had a really excellent week, has found it really interesting and learnt a lot and has come away really energised and motivated about his future in STEM. Please pass on our thanks to all involved at the different locations...I am so glad that Penistone Grammar School sent on the details of this opportunity and that I spotted it! Ben has expressed an interest in attending any future Get Up To Speed events that are planned and I'm sure he would happily do this week again next year if that is allowed and the itinerary different enough."

British Army

"We have been working in partnership with The Work-Wise Foundation for the last 8 years. As an organisation that work selflessly for the benefit of Young People, I could praise them more and wish that the rest of the Region that I cover had similar motivated organisations.  The British Army has worked with The Work-wise Foundation through-out the years on ‘Get Up to Speed with STEM’ annually, Summer Academy, North Star Science School and for the last two years we have collaborated on forming International Women’s Day Workshops.  I have been proud to see how each time we have worked in partnership we have enhanced the projects for the benefit of the Young People and their development."

Acres Hill Primary School

"The Work-wise Foundation visited Acres Hill in 2023 to deliver a STEMfest day to our year 4 students. It was incredible! We loved every second - the whole team were brilliant with the kids and linked each fun activity back to a sector in which the children could think about careers. Their favourite was definitely making and flying rockets! I'd urge any primary schools who are wanting to increase STEM activity in school to talk to The Work-wise Foundation about what they can offer.  We've also visited Get up to Speed with STEM and entered lots of the fun competitions the charity runs. Get up to Speed is a brilliant day, so many  hands-on activities the children are always blown away and come back to school so excited about what they've seen - especially the McLaren!"

UK Atomic Energy Authority

“I have worked with The Work-wise Foundation now for many years and have always found their events to be well organised and good fun for the visiting school groups and the involved organisations alike! Their large scale events like Get Up To Speed and North Star provide a fantastic platform for our organisation to reach a large amount of school children all at once, and their smaller scale in-school events allow us to showcase our work and inspire STEM careers in local South Yorkshire communities.”

Vulcan to the Sky Trust

"The Vulcan to the Sky Trust has worked in partnership with The Work-wise Foundation for over three years. Their support of our education work has helped us to establish and develop our programme in the Yorkshire region; showcasing Vulcan XH558 and her technical innovations to inspire young people into careers in engineering and STEM-related subjects. With The Work-wise Foundation alongside us, together we will continue to ensure as many young people and educators as possible get to experience and learn about the aircraft, sparking aspirations in young people in the roles available to them after taking STEM subjects."

Gulliver’s Theme Park Resorts

“The support and input we have received from The Work-wise Foundation has been instrumental in the success of our newest resort, Gulliver’s Valley, which opened in Rotherham in 2020. Their team has been on this journey with us from the beginning when we were developing our initial plans for the resort right to the present day where, working in partnership with Work-wise, we have lots of exciting plans in the pipeline such as Skills Street, an immersive and innovative careers training experience, which is now well underway. Our organisations both share the same values doing all we can to help our young people achieve their aspirations for employment within this region and beyond. We are really proud of the relationship we have forged with The Work-wise Foundation, value their expertise and look forward to working with them for years to come.”

Macauley Primary School

"Year 4, 5 and 6 had a brilliant STEM day provided by The Work-wise Foundation. Their activities were not only exciting for the children, but got them thinking and working in the ways of engineers - building up their inventive sides and problem solving skills. It was fantastic to give the children the opportunity to work hands on to give them a taster of the kinds of jobs that engineers do and fields that they could work in."

Secondary School

"Our school has been collaborating with The Work-Wise Foundation for a number of years and our students have benefitted greatly from the wide range of events, activities and challenges on offer. The Get Up To Speed and North Star Science School events provide large numbers of young people with a huge variety of rich interactions with employers and further education providers, while being engaging and fun. The AMETEK STEM Business Challenge has been a particularly valuable project to stretch and develop our most able learners; their confidence, oracy and teamwork skills have progressed tremendously as a result."
