This year marks Harworth’s third year at North Star, where the team will once again bring their passion for regeneration and sustainability to life through an interactive co-created workshop with a local school.

Creating Places Where People Want to Live and Work

At North Star Science School 2025, Harworth will invite students to take part in a 15-minute hands-on workshop exploring placemaking, sustainability, and teamwork. Students will get the chance to design their own sustainable country park, inspired by one of the company’s most ambitious regeneration projects — Thoresby Vale Country Park.

Set within the historic Sherwood Forest, Thoresby Vale is a 450-acre development transforming a former colliery site into a vibrant, sustainable new community. Once a symbol of the region’s industrial past, it is now a shining example of regeneration done right — with plans for around 800 new homes, a village centre, a forest school, employment space, and vast areas of green infrastructure including walking and cycling trails, nature reserves, and even Harworth Honey bee hives.

“Thoresby Vale is more than just a place to live – it’s a place to grow, connect, and thrive,” the Harworth team explains. “It’s about putting people and the planet first.”
